How it Works For Tenants – As easy as 1, 2, 3
Stage 1 – Place your Holding Deposit
|First you’ll need to place a holding deposit of one week’s rent – this allows us to let the landlord know you are serious about renting the property. Once a landlord accepts your application, this commits you to the property, so you won’t get your deposit back if you change your mind later. You will get your deposit back if the Landlord rejects your application for any reason. Once the Landlord accepts you, the money will be automatically credited toward your first month’s rent payment. As the name suggests, this is a deposit and is not a charge or fee.|
Stage 2 – Checks & References
The landlord might request that you get referenced – if so there will be no cost to you, but you will be expected to complete such referencing in a timely manner. Note that if you fail referencing you should still be able to rent the property if someone can guarantee your rent payments, but you should be up front with the landlord if you think this is likely. There’s more information about referencing for tenants here: Referencing for Tenants.
Stage 3 – Contracts and Deposit Registration
Leave the rest to us!Beyond that, everything will be handled via our convenient online system – from contract signing and deposit registration, to a free concierge service to take the hassle out of setting up bills. Don’t worry, we’ll automatically remind you whenever you need to do anything.
